Reina Inui

Violinist Reina Inui, is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. She is from Los Angeles, where she studied with Robert Lipsett and Sheryl Staples at the Colburn School. As the Concertmaster of the Colburn Chamber Orchestra, she was featured on KUSC live broadcast. Miss Inui toured with the Zipper Orchestra conducted by Dr. Herbert Zipper as soloist when she was a teenager throughout the Los Angeles schools. This past season she returned to Los Angeles from the East Coast, and has since been invited as Concertmaster to lead the Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra. In Spring 2018, she will be joining the Pacific Symphony Orchestra’s Tour of China with Pinchas Zukerman.
Miss Inui has previously held positions with the Buffalo and Virginia Symphony Orchestras and has performed with the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, Philly POPS, and the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. Performance highlights in Philadelphia include the Opera Philadelphia’s gala concert to commemorate the premiere of Kevin Puts’ 2012 Pulitzer Prize winning opera, ‘Silent Night’ and with the Los Angeles Dance Project at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts in a trio composed by Nico Muhly. On a slightly different note, Miss Inui has played in concert with the late Frank Sinatra, Jr., Johnny Mathis, Il Divo, Jackie Evancho, and Seth MacFarlane. This season she played on the recording session for the TV show “The Orville.” Miss Inui won Grand Prize at the Los Angeles Music Center Spotlight Awards and Second Prize at the Los Angeles Philharmonic Bronislaw Kaper Awards. She was a finalist at both Schadt and Julius Stulberg International String Competitions. Currently she is on the violin faculty at the Brentwood School and the Sol-La Music Academy in Santa Monica. |
